Buttons on the Tool Bar

Run (Leave Debug mode)
When in debug mode, this button will start emulation and hide all debug windows.
Pause (Enter Debug mode)
When running, this button will pause emulation and display the debug windows.
Single-Step (Enter Debug mode)
When running, this button will pause emulation and display the debug windows. When in debug mode, this button will execute a single instruction or part of a repeating instruction, following into call instructions.
Step-Over (Enter Debug mode)
When running, this button will pause emulation and display the debug windows, unless a prior instruction is already in step-over mode. When in debug mode, this button will execute a single instruction. Executing repeating instructions to completion and executing entire routines on call or rst instructions.
Display Register Window
Displays information about the current state of the various support chips of the CPC including the VGA (Video Gate Array), CRTC (Cathode Ray Tube Controller), PSG (Programmable Sound Generator) and ASIC (The Amstrad Plus chip comprising the VGA, CRTC and various extras).
Assembler
Displays the assembler IDE. This allows programs to be written in Maxam compatible Z80 assembly language and assembled either directly to the emulator memory, or output to a PC disc, hard disc or disc image.
Select Disc(s)
Selects the disc image to be used in the emulated CPC floppy disc drives. Formats supported are .DSC/.HDR (from RWCPC), .DSK (from Marco Veith CPCEMU, the most common format) or .ARC (Xexor archive).

Select Cartridge

Selects an Amstrad Plus cartridge. Selecting a cartridge will reset the emulation and start the cartridge program immediately. If a cartridge fails to work it is most likely due to a ROM conflict. Select Disable all ROMs in the Memory Settings screen. Formats supported are .CPR (RIFF format image) and .CRT (Binary cartridge data).
Tape Monitor
Displays the Tape Monitor. This can be used to load and play CDT, TZX, VOC or WAV format tape files.
Load a Snapshot
Loads a snapshot file and begins execution. A snapshot file contains information about the state of the CPC emulator at the time it was saved. This can be a convenient way to load previously saved games.
Save a Snapshot
Saves a snapshot file. Saves the state of the CPC emulator at the time this button is pressed. This can be a convenient way to save a game to avoid loading times, or to save the current position in the game.
Configuration
Configures the various options for WinAPE. These options include display settings, sound settings, keyboard layout configuration and ROMs loaded.
Pokes
Allows entry and editing of game cheats and pokes.

Toggle Full Screen Mode

Toggles between normal (running within a window) and full screen mode.
